被称为现代化之父的马哈迪，一定有其原因，不管是在经济发展或各个方面，马哈迪为大马贡献确实不少。一起来看看马哈迪为马来西亚做过的7件事。
1.他为大马规划出经济发展宏愿
在1991年由马哈迪定下的2020宏愿，希望在20年内大马经济发展能增进7%。
2. 在90年代，马哈迪开始多项建筑工程设施，至今仍有利于大马人民
Among the more successful projects initiated by Mahathir during his tenure as Prime Minister included the development of Putrajaya as the home of Malaysia’s public service. In 1997-1998, Dr M had the Sepang International Circuit constructed with the intent of hosting the Malaysian Grand Prix.
In 2011, the Malaysian Grand Prix generated total economic activity of approximately RM 200 million. The average spending of a foreign visitor was at approximately RM7,000 while that of a domestic visitor is RM 2,500.
3. 在1998年金融风暴，比起其他国家，马哈迪更迅速地解决了经济问题
In 1998, the financial crisis threatened to devastate Malaysia which saw the ringgit plummet due to currency speculation, outflow of foreign investment and the crashing of the main stock exchange index by over 75 per cent.
4.让大马法律更公正
He fought to remove the constitutional immunity of the sultans from civil and criminal suits in 1992. The rulers eventually gave their assent for the government’s proposals to remove the legal immunity, which was implemented in March 1993.
5. 马哈迪提出政府企業私有化的可能
Inspired by contemporaries like Margaret Thatcher, Dr M started the privatization of government enterprises which aimed to liberalize the economy. The new policy helped open new business opportunists for the Bumiputeras through the aid of affirmative action.
6.马哈迪把Langkawi变成旅游胜地
Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was also recognised as the Architect of Modern Langkawi. He initiated the move to transform the island into a celebrated recreational hub and beachside that Malaysians can be proud of. His efforts also gave rise to the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA). Since then, LADA has worked very hard to develop Langkawi.
7.他注重“向东学习”政策
Dr M looked to Asia for development models, most notably taking ques from Japan. He emphasized the Asian development models and Japan-Malaysia relations were formed.
In 2011, the total trade between Malaysia and Japan was at RM145.3 billion with RM 80 billion contributed by exports from Malaysia to Japan. This was more than the total imports from Japan with was at RM65.3 billion.
