(China Daily) The third season of the music show Infinite and Beyond concluded recently on video-streaming platform Mango TV. The program brought together a diverse group of singers, spanning various age groups, to perform classic Chinese pop music pieces.
These classic pop songs are widely recognized as epitomizing the pinnacle of creative achievement during their respective eras. They not only reflect the highest levels of musical craftsmanship at the time but have also left an enduring impact, becoming widely circulated and influential pieces of Chinese pop music.
The decision to reinterpret these songs on a music show is an intentional effort to showcase the chronological history of Chinese pop music.
The show featured a stellar lineup of 12 talented artists, namely, Sun Nan, Han Hong, Huang Qishan, Leo Ku, Chen Chusheng, Cyndi Wang, Tan Weiwei, Hu Yanbin, Yu Kewei, Wang Sulong, Zhou Shen and Song Yaxuan.
Over the course of nearly three months, the program presented six concerts and six themed singing competitions. Covering a range of topics including self-discovery, love and daily life, the music show aimed to showcase the diverse facets of Chinese pop music. Through this exploration, it sought to reinforce the shared memories and emotions of the Chinese people, creating a collective tapestry of experiences that resonated with audiences.
